--The System Dynamics Group of the University of Palermo offered a Spring School and an International Symposium on “Outcome-Based” Dynamic Performance Management in the Public Sector.
--MIT held NESCI Summer School as a basis for pursuing complex systems research.
--NASPAA conducted the Annual Student Simulation Competition in Washington, DC.
--CC Modeling Systems offered summer online modeling courses for math and science teachers who would like to incorporate System Dynamics modeling in their curriculum.
--NATCOR held a System Dynamics Seminar for PhD students in the UK.
--The Society for Organizational Learning held the workshop “Leading Sustainable Transformation.”
--University of Witwatersrand in South Africa offered free online System Dynamics courses.
--The 32nd and 33rd System Dynamics Colloquiums were hosted respectively by Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s System Dynamics Club (WPI SD Club) and the University at Albany.
--The University at Albany School of Business hosted weekly SD movie nights featuring Forrester’s Seminar Series on System Dynamics.

--The Behavioral Science & Policy Association (BSPA) hosted its annual conference in Washington, DC. Speakers, panelists and presenters challenged assumptions on how the behavioral sciences can be applied across multiple contexts.
--AnyLogic’s Andrei Borshchev, along with many simulation modeling professionals, led seminars in Tel Aviv.
--Strategy Dynamics announces the release of two video-based guides to the Sysdea System Dynamics online software. --isee systems announced the release of Stella Simulator.
-- Ventana Inc. released a new version of software, Vensim 6.4E. Ventana’s support forum for Vensim was a huge success, answering over 2, 000 queries and gave access to the archive of SD mailing list.
--Cooper Human System’s Discovery2, which predicts the human efficacy of drug combinations and protocols aimed at curing complex diseases related to the human immune system, became commercially available.
--Jay W. Forrester and his career is featured in the exhibit “Four Centuries on Innovation” at Logan International Airport in Boston.

--Public Radio International invited John Sterman to consider whether big oil companies are really on board for addressing climate change.
--Tasmania’s wildfires affected World Heritage Area (WHA); experts warn such incidents are signs of a changing climate.
--A World Climate Simulation exercise was held at the University at Albany in November.
--At the Delft Conference, the IBM Academy of Technology hosted a Climate Change Hackathon to model the impact of climate changes on vulnerable populations over time.

Through the use of models and educational tools, they are helping political leaders, policymakers and the public to see the urgency of emissions cuts, how plans that move past the Paris agreement make an impact and potential problems.
· presented webinars to introduce the World Climate Simulation exercise.
· presented their work (and the work of MIT, Union of Concerned Scientists, Climate Central, and the Carbon Tracker) at the United Nations Headquarters as the Paris Climate Agreement came into legal force in November.

IN MEMORIAM

-- Qifan Wang, May 31, 2016: Qifan played an influential role in the field of System Dynamics in China and had a long history of service to the System Dynamics Society.
-- Jay W. Forrester, November 16, 2016: Jay founded what became the field of System Dynamics and had a profound and lasting influence on it throughout its 60-year history. Members of our community sent countless email messages and posts to the System Dynamics Society. These illustrate the consummate importance Jay had in the field of System Dynamics and the mark he has left on the lives of so many.
